Last Saturday was March 6th 2010, and it was exactly one year ago that the Australian Sharemarket hit rock bottom, it was the lowest point in over five and half years where the S&P/ASX 200 dropped to 3145.50 points. The previous 16 -18 months should live long in the memory of most investors, not many investors were brave enough to delve back into the market a year ago, however if you had of invested $100,000 into the market around March last year your investment would be worth around $144,500 today which is a staggering compound return in excess of 44% in just one year!

But where to from here? Some Analysts are predicting that the recovery will be slower from here and perhaps take until mid 2012 to reach the previous high of 6845, however most are saying that 2010 will be a very positive year, one in fact is predicting the market could reach 6000 by the end of 2010, which is a 26% increase from last week?
